Sun Bay Beach (Sombe)
The beach at Sun Bay is the most popular and well know beach on Vieques. It's a long gently curved bay with very wide sandy beach and of course the warm waters of the Caribbean. This spot is popular with families because it has bathroom facilities and a space to shower off. If you get there early you can find a spot under one of the palm trees to set your chairs and blankets out. There are also concessions here, and during the high season there is a nominal $2 per car charge for entry. Although one of the most popular beaches, it is rarely crowded. This is also the entry point for Media Luna Beach and Navio Beach. Sun Bay is located just east of the village of Esperanza on 997.
