Playa Grande

Playa Grande is on the southwest side of Vieques, in La Hueca at the end of Rte 201. This is the place for beach-combing and going for long walks toward the end of the day. The seas are active here due to the constant trade winds, and there are plenty of shells to be found. The sand is coarse due to the constant pounding of the waves on the beach. The landscaping is rugged, and there are plenty of rocks to scramble over.  Due to the southwestern orientation, it's also a great place to catch a sunset.
