Casa Violeta

We invite you to consider Casa Violeta is a simple and relaxing home base on Vieques. Casa Violeta is arranged as two bedrooms (one king, one queen), two baths, a good sized living and kitchen space, and a small laundry room. There is a large front porch which is shaded most of the day (with hammocks provided), and a small back porch which is shaded in the morning and which we use for a breakfast area, as well as to view the sun going down at the end of the day. There is a small garden on the side of the house with Banana, Mango, Papaya, Orange and Sour Orange trees (feel free to eat the fruit in season).

The house sits slightly up from all the houses in front of it and gets cooling sea breezes. There are ceiling fans in all the main rooms, screens on all doors and windows. There is no air-conditioning, but you will find that you don't really need it due to the sea breezes. Also there is no glass in any of the windows (this is typical for the island, glass is not really needed).

Casa Violeta comes fully equipped with modern appliances: refrigerator, stove (gas), microwave, and washing machine. There is no TV, but there is a radio, cassette and CD player. Bed linen, bath and beach towels are included.
